COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
CLEANING AND SANITZING MACHINE
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description in preference to MIL-C-43949.
1. ABSTRACT
1.1 Abstract. This commercial item description covers cleaning and sanitizing machines.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
2.1 Design and construction. The cleaning and sanitizing machine shall be driven by a minimum one-horsepower (HP) motor. The machine shall be capable of maintaining a water temperature of 180° F. Pressure capacity shall be 500 ± 50 psi with a flow capacity of 3.0 gallons per minute (GPM). The unit shall be equipped with a water pump, spray gun with nozzle, pressure hoses, and a portable handcart attached to the unit. A heavy duty, high pressure, 5/16 inch or 3/8 inch inside diameter discharge hose with an inner jacket which can withstand a pressure of 2500 psi without leakage or bursting and is encased in heavy duty, one piece vinyl scuff jacket, shall be furnished. The hose will be a minimum 25 feet long. A vinyl dip tube with basket strainer shall be provided for liquid soap or liquid chemical solution. Spray gun assembly must be adjustable, allowing the operator to change spray patterns from 0 degrees to 40 degrees. Spray control gun, quick disconnects, and hoses shall not leak when in operation. A portable handcart for machine portability shall be provided.
