COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
RACK, MOBILE (FOR ROLL-THRU REFRIGERATORS
AND ROLL-THRU FOOD WARMERS)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description in preference to MIL-R-43399 for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This commercial item description covers one type of mobile metal rack used to hold various types of sheet pans and steam table pans (see 5.1).
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
2.1 Design and construction. All components of the mobile rack, except the casters and hardware, shall be fabricated of aluminum alloy. The rack shall be constructed to accommodate 15 pan openings, each with a pair of pan slides or runners. The lower pair of pan slides shall be spaced 4-1/2 inches apart, and the remaining 11 pair of pan slides shall be spaced 3 inches apart. The pan slides may be adjustable. The rack shall be as shown in Figure 1.
