COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
BIN, INGREDIENT, MOBILE, 150 LB. AND 250 LB. CAPACITY
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of the Commercial Item Description in preference to size 2 of Military Specification MIL-B-43386B.
1. ABSTRACT
1.1 Abstract. This Commercial Item Description covers mobile ingredient bins of the following two sizes:
Size 1 150 lb. capacity
Size 2 250 lb. capacity
1.2 CID based part identification number (PIN). A document based PIN to identify sizes of items is included in section 5. This identification numbering procedure is for Government purposes and does not constitute a requirement for the contractor except as information on “Government unique” data nameplates (see 5.4).
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
2.1 Design and construction. The ingredient bins shall be fabricated with or without seams from stainless steel having a minimum thickness of 0.0375 inch. When applicable, seams shall be continuous, smooth, and blend in with bin body. The bins, when completely filled with water, shall not leak.
