COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
DISPENSER, BREAD, FRONT AND REAR LOADING, 5 COMPARTMENT
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description in preference to Size 5 of Military Specification MIL-D-43975.
1. Classification. This commercial item description covers counter top mounted, front and rear loading, 5 compartment sliced bread dispensers for use in government agency and military dining facilities.
2. Salient characteristics.
2.1 Design and construction. The dispenser shall be fabricated from stainless stel, with a plexiglass or tempered glass front panel. The dispenser shall have a removable crumb tray, and four adjustable legs. The legs shall be removable from the dispenser, and adjust to a minimum height of 4 inches. Maximum overall dimensions of the bread dispenser excluding the adjustable legs shall be 28 inches in width by 23 inches in depth by 27 inches high. The dispenser shall have five compartments, each consisting of a separate hinged bread chute and dispensing assembly. The capacity of each compartment shall be one Fullman bread loaf. Four of the compartments shall be 4-3/4 inches by 4-3/4 inches, and one compartments shall be fillable from the rear by lowering the hinged chutes or from the front by raising the plexiglass or tempered glass front panel. Each chute shall dispense sliced bread one slice at a time upon actuation of the dispensing lever. The completed bread dispenser shall comply with National Sanitation Foundation Standard No.2.
2.2 Data name plate. The bread dispenser shall be furnished with a data name plate in accordance with the applicable requirements of MIL-STD-130 except, the requirements for; (a) Methods of applying (b) Identification tags, (c) Information not required, and (d) Optional marking information shall not apply.
