The data plate shall be made of minimum 20 gage corrosion-resisting metal and attached to the butter dispenser by rivets, screws or welding in such manner as to meet the applicable National Sanitation Foundation sanitary requirements for this equipment. The plate shall contain the following information, which shall be stamped, engraved, or applied by photosensitive means:

Each plate shall be placed so that it is readily visible to the operator during normal operating use and so as to not adversely affect the life and utility of the butter dispenser.
3. QUALITY ASSURANCE
3.1 Certification. The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics and requirements of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
3.2 Performance. The test shall be performed in an ambient temperature range of 80OF (26.6OC) to 900F (32.2OC). The eutectic cooling unit shall be refrigerated at 0OF (-18Oc) ± 2OF (1OC) for 8 hours. The pre-packaged butter trays shall be refrigerated at 38OF (3Oc) ± 2OF (1OC). Load the dispenser with refrigerated butter trays and eutectic cooling unit. At the end of four hours, the internal temperature of the butter pat located at the approximate center of the butter tray length of each butter tray shall be recorded to determine compliance with 2.1. The failure of any sampled butter pat to meet specified requirements shall constitute failure of this test.
3.3 Metric product. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fail within specified tolerances using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard No. 376, and all other requirements of this CID are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product.
