COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
BONE DUST REMOVING MACHINE, ELECTRIC, AUTOMATIC, MOBILE
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
Salient Characteristics.
The machine shall automatically remove bone dust from the top and bottom surfaces of sewed cuts of meat ranging in thickness from 1/4 inch to 3-1/2 inches. In-feed and output conveyors and removable scrap trays shall be provided. The scraper clusters and output conveyor shall be self-cleaning. The frame and housing shall be fabricated from aluminum. The in-feed conveyor shall be fabricated of stainless steel wire. The machine shall be powered by a 1/2 horsepower, 115 volts, 60 Hz (or trolled by a manual 220 volts, 50 Hz when specified for European requirements) single phase motor controlled by a manual pull-to-start/push to stop double pole, single throw switch. A cord with a 13 foot aluminum length and a 3 prong grounding type plug shall be provided. Maximum overall dimensions shall be 52 inches long, 34 inches deep and 54 inches high (including 5 inch casters). The bone dust removing machine shall conform to Underwriters Laboratories Std. No. 982. The machine shall have an identification plate that shall include the national stock number, date of manufacture and the contract number.
Certification.
The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description, and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards and quality assurance practices and is the same product sold in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
Packaging.
A. Packaging. The bone dust removing machine shall be preserved and packaged in accordance with commercial practice.
B. Packing. Packing shall be in accordance with commercial packing complying with Uniform Freight Classification or National Motor Freight Classification, as applicable.
C. Marking. Commercial markings are acceptable, provided the following information is included:
