MOLDING MACHINES, MEAT – FISH
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial item Description in preference to Type II, class 1 and 2, Type III, and Type IV of Military Specification MIL-M-40163. (See supersession data for the specific items this document replaces.)
Salient characteristics.
The molding machines shall be of the following types and classes.
Type I – Bench mounted
The type I meat molding machines shall be electric motor operated, self-contained, bench mounted, with automatic paper feed.
Class 1 – 1200 Patties per hour
The class 1 molding machine shall meet the following requirements:
Production rate - 1200 Patties per hour (min.)
Hopper capacity – 20 pounds.
Mold rate for 3 oz., 4 inch diameter patty.
Electrical characteristics – 120 V, 60 Hz, 1 Ph, equipped with 6 foot UL approved, 3 wire power supply cord with grounding plug, and 1/2 HP motor.
Maximum dimensions – 36 inches long by 13 inches wide by 20 inches high
Class 2 – 2100 Patties per hour
The class 2 molding shall meet the following requirements:
Production rate – 2100 Patties per hour (min.)
Hopper capacity – 40 pounds.
Mold rate for 3 oz., 4 inch diameter patty.
Electrical characteristics – 120 V, 60 Hz, 1 Ph, equipped with 6 foot UL approved, 3 wire power supply cord with grounding plug, and 1/2 HP motor.
Maximum dimensions – 24 inches long by 36 inches wide by 33 inches high.
