2.1.2 Support structure. The support structure shall be fabricated from galvanized steel or stainless steel. The structure shall support the conveyor and be furnished with four legs. The four legs shall be equipped with 3 inch diameter locking casters. Two legs shall be located at the drive end, adjustable from 33 to 41 inches high, and two legs shall be located at the idler end, adjustable from 13-1/2 to 15-1/2 inches high. Additional cross support bracing fabricated from galvanized steel shall be provided at the drive end to prevent twisting when moved.
2.1.3 Conveyor. The conveyor belt speed shall be 55 to 65 feet per minute. The conveyor assembly shall be provided with an electric motor driven pulley unit mounted on the drive (high) end and an idler, mounted at the idler (low) end. An adjustable tension pulley shall be provided. The overall length of the assembled conveyor in operation position, including roller unit and conveyor section, shall be 71 inches minimum to 76 inches maximum.
2.1.4 Roller unit. A roller unit shall be provided on the drive end of the conveyor. The roller unit shall have ten rollers equipped with ball bearings on each end of the roller. The roller unit shall be a minimum of 8 inches wide by 9-3/4 inches long.
2.1.5 Belt. The belt shall be a minimum of 6 inches wide, USDA approved construction, white and cleated.
2.1.6 Motor. Unless otherwise specified (see 5.2), the motor shall operate on a 120 volt, 60 Hertz, 1 phase power source and have a minimum rating of 1/30 horsepower equipped with an “ON-OFF” control switch accessible to the operator.
2.1.7 Cable and, plug assembly. The conveyor shall be equipped with a 6 foot minimum length, 3 wire power supply cord with grounding type plug.
2.2 Type II.
2.2.1 Design. The belt conveyor shall consist of a support structure, conveyor with side panels, roller units, removable belt, motor and cable, switch and hopper assembly. The belt conveyor shall be designed to transfer 300 pounds per minute of meat product to large volume mixer/grinders.
2.2.2 Support structure. The support structure shall be galvanized steel or stainless steel equipped with two telescoping legs on the discharge end, with size position height adjustment, and two legs on the hopper end. The discharge chute shall be capable of being adjusted from 51 to 80 inches. The four legs shall be equipped with 5-inch diameter casters (two swivel and two rigid), each having a 2 inch height adjustment.
