2.2 Electrical characteristics. Unless otherwise specified, the refrigeration unit shall operated on 120-volt, 60 Hz, 1-phase electrical system. When 50-Hz frequency is specified, the motor and wiring shall be specifically designed for operation on that frequency.
2.3 Codes and Standards. The dough-proofing cabinet shall comply with Underwriters Laboratories Inc, Standard No. 197, Commercial Cooking Appliance, and National Sanitation Foundation Standard No.4, Gas and Electric Commercial Cooking and Warming Equipment.
2.4 Data name plate (“Government unique” requirement). The dough-proofing cabinet shall be furnished with a data name plate. The data name plate shall be made of a 20-gauge (minimum) corrosion-resistant metal and shall be attached to the cabinet by rivets, screws, or welding in such a manner as to meet the applicable National Sanitation Foundation sanitary requirements for this equipment. The plate shall be stamped, engraved or applied by photosensitive means and shall contain the following information:
National Stock number
Procurement Contract Number
CID Number
Manufacturer’s Name, Address and Telephone Number
Supplier’s Name, Address and Telephone Number (list only if different from Manufacturer)
Manufacturer’s Model Number
Government Approved Manual Number (when specified)
Each name plate shall be placed so that it is readily visible to the operator during normal operating use and so as to not adversely affect the life and utility of the dough-proofing cabinet.
2.5 Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within the tolerance specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard 376, and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch/pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product.
2.6 Regulatory requirements. In accordance with section 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations, the Government’s policy is to acquire items composed of the highest percentage of recovered materials practical, consistent with maintaining a satisfactory level of competition without adversely affecting performance requirements or exposing supplier’s employees to undue hazards from the recovered materials in accordance with
