COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
GLASSWASHER, ELECTRIC, PORTABLE
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description in preference to MIL-G-11491.
1. ABSTRACT
1.1 Abstract. This commercial item description covers portable electric glasswashers.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
2.1 Design and construction. The glasswasher shall be designed to remove foreign matter on the inside and outside of two items of glassware simultaneously. The unit shall be designed so it can be suspended from a sink back-splash submerged in water, or used on a drainboard. The glasswasher shall primarily consist of an electric motor, with not less than 1/4 horsepower (HP), brush drive mechanism, interchangeable brushes, and a splashguard. The glasswasher shall be not more than 20 inches wide by 20 inches high by 18 inches deep. The drive mechanism shall be enclosed in a housing constructed of 300 series stainless steel. Three nylon brushes, a minimum of 3 inches in diameter, shall be furnished. An on-off switch shall be located on the front of the housing for easy access. A bracket shall be furnished to hang glasswasher on back-splash and be easily adjustable for the most convenient height for the operator. The bracket shall be fabricated from 300 series stainless steel.
