3. QUALITY ASSURANCE
3.1 Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics and requirements of the description and conforms to the producer’s own specifications and standards, and quality assurance practices, and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. When specific quality assurance provisions are specified for any commercial characteristic the contractor shall furnish data resulting from inspection conducted in accordance with the specific quality assurance provisions. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery from point of origin and any time thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
3.2 End item testing. One meat slicing machine shall be tested for each production lot and shall meet the quality assurance provisions of ASTM F 919-85, sections 9 through 12, except as follows:
Add the following paragraphs to section 9:
“9.6 On/Off Switch Test:
9 .6.1 Significance - The purpose of this test is to insure the reliability of the on/off switch.
9.6.2 Procedure - The on/off switch (main power) shall be operated from start to complete stop for 180 cycles without failure.
9.7 Carriage Reliability Test:
9.7.1 Significance - The purpose of this test is to insure the reliability of the carriage operation and the engagement mechanism of the powered carriage feature.
