9.7.2 Procedure - The slicer shall be operated in the powered carriage mode over a single 36 hour period. A 5 pound load shall be placed in the carriage for the test. During the test period, the powered carriage feature shall be disengaged temporarily and operated manually for 2 complete cycles per hour during each of the 36 hours. This procedure shall be conducted in accordance with the manufacturer’s operating instruct ions.”
4. PACKAGING
4.1 Packaging. In lieu of the packaging, packing and marking specified in paragraph 15 of ASTM F 915-85 the meat slicing machines shall be packaged, packed and marked as specified below:

4.3 Commercial packaging and packing. Each slicer shall be cleaned, preserved, packaged, packed and unitized in accordance with ASTM D 3951.
4.4 Export packaging and packing.
4.4.1 Export packaging. Each slicer shall be cleaned, preserved and cushioned to protect against corrosion, deterioration and physical damage during shipping and storage. Disassembled parts and accessories, and owner’s manual shall be packaged in a fiberboard box conforming to type CF or SF, class domestic, style optional of PPP-B-636.
4.3.2 Export packing. Each meat slicing machine with its parts package, or main components with parts for large slicers, shall be packed in a nailed and lock-corner wood box conforming to class II, style 2, 4 or 7, type I load of PPP-B-621 or a cleated-plywood box conforming to overseas type, style optional of PPP-B-601 Each box shall be waterproofed with a sealed case liner conforming to type I, II or IV, grade optional of MIL-L-10547. Each box shall be closed and reinforced, and skidded if the shipping weight exceeds 200 pounds, in accordance with the appendix of PPP-B-601 or PPP-B-621, as applicable.
4.4.3 Palletization. When specified (see 5.1), shipping containers and unit loads shall be palletized in accordance with MIL-STD-147.
4.5 Marking (commercial and export). Marking of unit packs, and shipping containers shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-129, or ASTM D 3951, as applicable.
