3.2.1 NSF International. Acceptable evidence of meeting the requirements of NSF International Standard No. 8 shall be a listing in the current edition of the NSF International “Listing of Food Service Equipment” and display of the NSF International mark on the finished product, or a certified test report from a recognized independent laboratory acceptable to the Government indicating compliance with the applicable NSF International requirement(s).
3.2.2 Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL). Acceptable evidence of meeting the requirements of UL Standard No. 73 or No. 763 shall be the UL listing mark, or a certified test report from a recognized independent laboratory acceptable to the Government indicating compliance with the applicable requirements of UL Standard No. 73 or No. 763.
3.2.3 National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). The contractor shall submit to the contracting officer a written certificate of compliance as proof of compliance that the vegetable peeling machine meets the applicable requirements of the NEMA.
3.2.4 American Society of Sanitary Engineering (ASSE). The contractor shall submit satisfactory evidence that the waste disposer conforms to the applicable requirements of ASSE Standard no. 1009.
4. PACKAGING
4.1 Packaging and packing. Packaging and packing shall be commercial or export as specified (see 5.2).
4.2 Commercial packaging and packing. Each vegetable peeling machine shall be preserved, packaged, and packed in accordance with ASTM D 3951.
4.3. Export packaging and packing.
4.3.1 Export packaging. Each vegetable peeling machine shall be disassembled to the extent specified by the manufacturer to protect parts susceptible to damage during shipment and storage and for the reduction of cubage. Disassembly shall be such that special skills or special tools, other than those furnished, or both, are not required to place the vegetable peeling machine in operation. Disassemble parts shall be identified. The vegetable peeling machine and disassembled parts shall be preserved and cushioned to provide adequate protection against corrosion, deterioration, and damage during shipping and storage. Disassembled and detached parts shall be packaged in a snug-fitting fiberboard box conforming to PPP-B-636.
4.3.2 Export packing. Each vegetable peeling machine shall be packed in a snug-fitting, wood-cleated plywood box conforming to domestic type, style A or B, type 3 load of PPP-B-601. The contents of the box shall be cushioned, blocked and braced to prevent movement and damage while in transit. Closure and strapping shall be in accordance with PPP-B601.
