1.2 CID Based part identification number (PIN). A document based PIN to identify type, grade, size, and style of items is included in section 5. This identification numbering procedure is for Government purposes and does not constitute a requirement for the contractor except as information on “Government unique” data nameplates (see 5.4).
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
2.1 Design and construction.
2.1.1 Type I tables. Type I tables shall be 48 inches long by 24 inches wide by 36 inches high and shall consist of 4 legs, an undershelf, a stainless steel frame with bracing, and a plastic top. Legs shall be constructed of 16 gauge, 300 series stainless steel tubing, 1-5/8 inches in diameter. The lower end of each leg shall have an adjustable leveling device in conformance with NSF International Standard No.2. The undershelf shall be located at 9 inches to 13 inches above the floor. The undershelf shall be a minimum of 16 gauge, 300 series stainless steel. The undershelf shall form a rigid support for the table legs. Legs and undershelf shall disassemble easily for shipping. The table top shall be 2 half-length pieces of 3/4 inch plastic material supported on all edges by the frame and shall be held in place on the frame by stainless steel tabs or clips. Two tabs or clips shall be provided on the outside on each end, front and back. Table top material shall conform to sanitation requirements of NSF International Standard No.2. The tops shall be white or buff in color and with a minimum Shore D durometer hardness of 55 (see figure 1).
2.1.2 Type II tables. Type II tables shall be 72 inches long by 36 inches wide by 36 inches high. Table tops shall be stainless steel for the back 18 inches and plastic for the front 18 inches. Type II tables shall be of the same construction as type I. The front working section of the table top shall be 2 removable 36 inch by 18 inch by 3/4 inch thick plastic cutting boards held in place by stainless steel tabs or clips.
2.1.2.1 Style 1. Style 1 tables shall have square edges (see figure 3).
2.1.2.2 Style 2. Style 2 tables shall have a 14 inch high backsplash extending the full length of the back and half the width tapered towards the front of the table. The backsplash and table top section shall be fabricated of 14 gauge 300 series stainless steel. The backsplash and table top shall be fastened to the frame and the edges shall be turned or rolled for rigidity (see figure 2).
